Bi-Lateral Basketball, 45 minutes, 2007. DVD

The human body is bi-lateral which simply means that
both sides of the body, at the joint areas, have the same
functional design as the other and can be trained to move
in similar patterns of movement. Even though there is a
dominant side, a player doesn’t have to settle that positive
movement can only feel comfortable on one side of the
body.
Since a player’s movement is critical to his or her
basketball success, this video discusses and
demonstrates the important elements and drills necessary
to achieve this type of basketball movement. Moving
both sides of the body in an effective and efficient
manner must be developed for any player to reach his or
her potential.
This type of movement can be developed at a young age.
The video will teach and demonstrate the elements of
movement involved in dribbling, right and left handed
basic and advanced lay-ups, ball on the floor shooting,
passing, and defensive footwork. For example, teaching
the proper footwork and mechanics for both the right
handed and left handed lay-up is more than telling a
player to jump off the proper foot. This video teaches the
basic build-up drills to make the process simple and easy
so the player develops the proper habits right from the
beginning.
